Jordan Retro 1 “Royal”

In 1985, sports photographer Chuck Kohn captured a moment of Michael Jordan donning the Air Jordan 1 Royal. This particular colorway held a special place in Jordan’s heart, ultimately becoming his preferred choice. Jordan’s affection for the Royals led to them being the initial Air Jordan 1 pair he purchased. Interestingly, these sneakers were also distinctive in that they were the only ones he didn’t wear on the court among the top three Air Jordan 1 Retro colorways (‘Banned’ and ‘Chicago’). Since its original release in 1985, the Royals made subsequent appearances in 1994, 2001, 2013, and 2017, showcasing their enduring popularity across generations.
